Only 20 days left!
Saigon was pleasant, if unremarkable… crazy traffic excepted. Can Tho & the Mekong Delta thereafter proved suitably relaxing, though that probably had something to do with our overnight stay on the Bassac. Spent a couple of days sampling the great diving on offer in Nha Trang while Mime pottered about town. Then endured a heinous 12 hour overnight bus trip up the central Vietnamese coast.
Worth it though. Hội An is echoes of old Vietnam: narrow, atmospheric streets, warm lanterns (not a fluorescent bulb in sight), wafts of vietnamese coffee and mouthwatering spices, beautiful low tiled houses, enterprising tailors & great arts and crafts.
Just gone 8am, better scoot for my soft, fresh baguette and some homemade strawberry compote.
